JinkoSolar, a global firm focused on solar module manufacturing, has announced the successful delivery of over 1.1 million Tiger Neo modules to the Witznitz Solar Park in Lobstädt, Germany. Enerpro, an offshore project management and construction specialist, has reaffirmed its commitment to Aberdeen with a significant investment. The company has relocated its headquarters to the city and invested £2 million in new premises in Aberdeen’s west end. This move also includes the creation of over 20 new positions, including two management roles. The DAEMON project, a European research initiative led by Spain’s IMDEA Networks Institute, has successfully concluded, marking a significant step towards the development of future-proof 6G networks. Launched in January 2021, the project focused on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into mobile network architecture, paving the way for faster, more ubiquitous mobile communication infrastructure with the potential to revolutionise everyday life. DAEMON’s core aim was to explore the practical application of AI in managing future generations of mobile networks (beyond 5G and 6G). The project achieved notable success, with its AI-driven architecture model being adopted by key standardisation bodies like the 5G Public Private Partnership (5G PPP) and the 6G Industry Alliance (6G IA). However, challenges remain as TCO pushes towards full project completion. The key hurdle lies in managing the existing oil production while implementing the WPMP. This involves lowering pressure at wellheads and subsequently boosting it to maintain capacity at existing processing plants, a complex process requiring ongoing adjustments. While the WPMP startup is a milestone, the complete expansion relies on the successful execution of the Future Growth Project (FGP). This final stage, targeted for completion in mid-2025, will determine the ultimate production increase of 12 million tons per annum. GMK Energy has been awarded the “TR33 Region Geothermal Water Management Plan Project” tender managed by Zafer Development Agency with the support of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology. Related to this, the TR33 Region Geothermal Water Management Plan Project kick-off meeting was held on February 27, 2024 at Zafer Development Agency Headquarters. Participating in the meeting were the GMK Energy and Zafer Development Agency General Secretariat, Kütahya Provincial Coordination Office, Usak Provincial Coordination Office, Afyon Provincial Coordination Office, and Manisa Provincial Coordination Office officials. Within the scope of this project, GMK Energy’s multidisciplinary team will carry out a basin-based evaluation of geothermal potential in the geothermal fields in the TR33 Region which consists of Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya, Manisa and Usak provinces. Additional studies that need to be carried out for a better management reservoir model and the economic activities that will occur will be determined, and province, district and field-based management model suggestions will be presented.
