Stantec has been awarded a contract by BC Hydro & Power Authority (BC Hydro) to deliver transmission and distribution engineering services alongside project delivery expertise. RLB and WSP appointed to support delivery of Rapid Transit System for Welsh Capital

Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) and multi-disciplinary professional services consultancy WSP have been appointed by Cardiff Council to provide programme and cost management services in support of the delivery of a new public transport system in the Welsh capital. Cardiff Crossrail, utilising tram-train technology, will provide reliable, sustainable, high-capacity, and high-frequency services. The project aligns with the council’s long-term vision to boost public transport use. The project team will work in partnership with Transport for Wales on the delivery of the scheme. Funding comes from the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund with match funding from the Welsh Government. Sustainable Geothermal Water Management Project, Türkiye

GMK Energy has been awarded the “TR33 Region Geothermal Water Management Plan Project” tender managed by Zafer Development Agency with the support of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology. Related to this, the TR33 Region Geothermal Water Management Plan Project kick-off meeting was held on February 27, 2024 at Zafer Development Agency Headquarters. Participating in the meeting were the GMK Energy and Zafer Development Agency General Secretariat, Kütahya Provincial Coordination Office, Usak Provincial Coordination Office, Afyon Provincial Coordination Office, and Manisa Provincial Coordination Office officials. Within the scope of this project, GMK Energy’s multidisciplinary team will carry out a basin-based evaluation of geothermal potential in the geothermal fields in the TR33 Region which consists of Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya, Manisa and Usak provinces. Additional studies that need to be carried out for a better management reservoir model and the economic activities that will occur will be determined, and province, district and field-based management model suggestions will be presented. Thanjavur selected for integrated solid waste management project

The Thanjavur Municipal Corporation has been selected to implement an integrated solid waste management project under the City Investments to Innovate, Integrate and Sustain (CITIIS) 2.0 programme of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs at an estimated cost of ₹135 crore. According to civic body sources, the Union Ministry invited proposals from 100 cities/towns across the country where the Smart City project was implemented for taking up integrated solid waste management programme. Thanjavur is one of the 18 cities/towns out of 100 that were selected for implementing the CITIIS 2.0 programme, which aims to address climate change, including achieving net-zero emissions by 2070. The CITIIS 2.0 programme has been jointly proposed by the Union Ministry in collaboration with the French Development Agency, KfW Development Bank, the European Union, and the National Institute of Urban Affairs, which aims to drive investments into urban climate action through competitively selected projects promoting a circular economy with a focus on integrated waste management, to foster climate-sensitive planning, and action through evidence-driven approaches, and to build an institutional mechanism.
