City of GP awarded $200,000 from Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta

The City of Grande Prairie has been granted $200,000 to action a vegetation management project to reduce wildfire risk before the end of 2024.

The Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta has awarded the City the funds as part of its efforts to reduce the impact of wildfires and incorporate FireSmart principles.

The Vegetation Management project will specifically reduce risk within the South Bear Creek corridor as identified in the City’s 2019 Wildfire Mitigation Strategy.
