APM – The role of reservoir delivery in securing the UK’s future water resources

October 22 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Description
Hosted by the CIWEM Metropolitan branch and the Association of Project Management, APM South East Regional Network. This event showcases to the industry, including young professionals, the excitement and opportunity of reservoir programmes across the south east and the crucial role they will play in securing future water resilience. There is an immediate need to build resilience in the water sector to address pressures on water supplies from climate change, population growth and the impacts of current operations on the natural environment. Reservoirs are a crucial component in securing resilient supplies and supporting transfer of water. A new potable water reservoir hasn’t opened in the UK since 1992 and with several national significant schemes emerging this panel discussion will explore the strategic need, programme delivery approach, and provision of social value at scale, along with a view of the regulator’s perspective. All CIWEM and APM members and non-members are welcome to attend this technical panel discussion. There will be opportunities after the presentations and discussion to socialise and network with other professionals in the water and environmental sector.
